SNOOKUMS Riding Her Bicycle, patented in 1916 by its inventor, her owner/trainer Emil Pallenberg

Along with training his bears, Emil Pallenberg designed and built the props that they used. Here is his last bear, Snookums, (circa 1950) riding her bicycle in the barn next door to their house on North High Street in Clinton, Connecticut.  Pallenberg patented what he called, "Velocipede for Animal Acrobats"  October 10, 1916.  You can read all about Emil Pallenberg (1888 to 1963) and his family in my book,  "Pallenberg Wonder Bears - From the Beginning".
