WINNER OF THE READER READY AWARD
What could happen to a man dragged to an alternate Earth, blinded, held captive, and blamed for a disaster that threatens their world’s existence?
Journey into a strange story told strangely. Imagine plunging into a world dominated by women, where females desire you only for your biological profile and subject you to mysterious experiments that test the outer limits of your reality.
From the mind of Dr. Wesley Britton, science fiction morphs into terrifying truth for Dr. Malcolm Renbourn, a young history teacher, when he walks into an ordinary bank on an ordinary day. Suddenly, he feels pain, and unexpectedly, he loses his sight and discovers he has been drawn against his will across the multi-verse to Balnakin, a slave-holding country on a parallel Beta-Earth, where he becomes the focal point in the hotbed of a plague that kills three out of four male babies their first year. He doesn’t understand a single word of their dialect, but he comprehends that his biology may contain the cure for their curse. Branded their property, he must escape, but where can a desperate blind man in a strange world dominated by women run?

“. . . a story with a highly original concept, fascinating characters and not-too-subtle but truthful allegories. Don’t let the sci-fi label or alternate Earth setting fool you. This is a compelling and contemporarily relevant story about race, sex, and social classes.” -Raymond Benson, former James Bond novelist and author of the Black Stiletto books
“I’ve not read a book like this before, full of alternative perspectives, excellent characterization, plots, emotional turmoil, and torment . . . the plot and dialogue are densely packed with ideas and the unique structure of the plot transport the reader to this new world. Dr Britton has successfully created a parallel world; something that many sci-fi books fail miserably at. Well worth the read!” -Robert Cole, author The Ego Cluster
“An excellent work that hearkens back to the classics of Asimov and Heinlein . . . each of the characters are fully developed and well defined and being able to hear their thoughts about each encounter brings a richness to the narratives. Politics, religion, social mores and relationships are all examined from both without and within. Think Stranger in a Strange Land combined with Foundation and you may begin to get an idea of the scope and quality of this adventure.” -Dave Massengale, Amazon review
“The book explores science, medicine, commerce, education, spiritual life, family life, and sex on an alternative planet, which, at times, is insightful and hilarious in its comparison to our own Earth. In an ingenious way, Dr. Britton has created a new grammar and vocabulary to continually intrigue the reader. A true winner!” -Bobbi Chertok, Amazon Review
“This is the first book of a series, where Robinson Crusoe meets Fringe in a parallel universe . . . Dr. Wesley Britton is a natural born storyteller, who has worked so much on his craft that it seems effortless.” -Amanda Spark, author of Janus Quadrifrons
