In 1958, Kenneth Hyman (the son of Hammer Film's silent partner - Eliot Hyman) came from New York to England with a project in hand - a new color version of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Hound of the Baskervilles. After that, Hyman (also heading the overseas operation of his father's 7Arts Production) would provide Hammer with two action packed 'true life' films - The Stranglers of Bombay (1959) and The Terror of the Tongs (1960).
