Whether you know H.M. Wynant or not, this book is for anyone who wants to know, experience, and feel what it was like to be barely twenty years old in Manhattan in the late 1940s and early 1950s, performing on Broadway every night, dancing Jerome Robbinschoreography in his very first show, appearing on stage with Laurence Olivier, Phil Silvers, Rex Harrison, and Katharine Hepburn, while running to television studios in the daytime during the dawn of live TV dramas, to work with the likes of Charlton Heston and Boris Karloff

Its a book for anyone who wants to know what it was like to be not yet thirty-years-old and recruited to come out to Hollywood in the mid-1950s to not only appear in movies with Clark Gable, Burt Lancaster, Elvis Presley, Charles Bronson, and Rod Steiger, but to have juicy guest roles on quite literally all of the most famous TV dramas and Westerns (and a few of the comedies) on the air from the 1950s through the 1970s (Batman, Mission: Impossible, Gunsmoke, Rawhide, Get Smart!, I Spy, Perry Mason, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., The Wild Wild West, Hawaii Five-O, Dallas), as well as live TV dramas with George C. Scott, Mickey Rooney, Ricardo Montalban, and Jack Warden

And of course, starring in a little piece of TV history called The Twilight Zone, a line of dialogue from which the title of this book is derived.

"You might not recognize his name, but H.M. Wynant is one of the most prolific character actors of his generation. With a career in films, television and the stage spanning almost eight decades, 97-year-old Wy-nant was interviewed extensively about his life and career by author and friend Steven Peros, who packs this 220-page biography with entertaining anecdotes — H.M.’s Detroit childhood, moving to New York City at the age of nineteen, juggling plays and early live television, then relocating to Hollywood in 1956. Although Wynant never became a star, he always delivered strong performances in a variety of supporting roles — from playing a bare-chested Sioux warrior opposite Charles Bronson and Rod Steiger in Sam Fuller’s RUN OF THE ARROW, to brawling with Elvis Presley in IT HAPPENED AT THE WORLD’S FAIR. He also recalls jobs on such classic series as PLAYHOUSE 90, PERRY MASON, BATMAN, GUNSMOKE, plus a rare lead role in the 1960 TWILIGHT ZONE episode “The Howling Man.” In addition, Peros includes how he first met Wynant in the ‘90s, with the veteran actor later appearing in the author’s 2009 feature FOOTPRINTS. Throughout it all, Wynant is refreshingly candid about the highs, lows and occasional missteps of his career, which makes for an engaging journey through showbiz history."
