In 2021, after the death of talking woman and dancer Lorraine Lee, I received the photograph collection of her late husband, comic Dick Richards. Dick began working in burlesque in the late 1930s. The couple often worked together for Harold Minsky; they had been married for 35 years when Dick died. For nearly 30 years Lorraine moved these photographs around with her after his death, so you know they meant a great deal to her. This is a simple book with very few words and 287 photographs; I hope you enjoy it.
For more photographs and burlesque history check out my other books: BURLESQUE: a Living History; BURLESQUE: Legendary Stars of the Stage 2nd Edition; BURLESQUE: A Collection of Comedy Blackouts; and BURLESQUE A Final Tribute: Legends Recipes & Minsky’s Files. The first two books listed won Independent Publishing Awards; and most of the books contain information regarding some of the performers whose photographs are shared in this book. Another book you might enjoy is: BURLESQUE in a Nutshell, by Dusty Sage; it is also available at BearManor Media or Amazon.
