635 Things I Learned From The Sopranos (ebook)
I’ve learned a lot from watching The Sopranos, and not just things like a bowling
bag makes a handy transport for a decapitated head, nor not to grill trout with a
downed power line, nor that the Gentleman Caller in The Glass Menagerie is a
douche bag. I’ve also learned that those who want respect give respect, and that
sometimes patients fall in love with their psychiatrists.
This collection looks at information and universal life lessons — things we’ve all
learned — from watching The Sopranos. Granted, some of these “truths” are specific
to certain situations in the lives of Tony and his families, but the underlying
principles of all of them can be universally applied. (Although when you come across
something like, “Bolt cutters work quite well for penile amputations,” or “The more
people you whack, the less you dream about those you clipped,” or “A hundred kids in
the ICU with arrows in their head do not give a wiseguy a pass for fucking up,”
coming up with a universal application for these lessons, is, admittedly, a stretch,
although it sure is fun trying to figure out if you could!)
