Carl Switzer was “Alfalfa” in the “our Gang” and “Little Rascals” comedy shorts beginning in 1935 and later seen in the early years of television. After that run, he worked with the likes of Elizabeth Taylor, Donna Reed, Bing Crosby, Bob Hope and James Stewart. All that before his mysterious death in 1959, an incident long a legend in Hollywood lore.
Switzer’s story has been told in full in *Alfalfa: The Rascal you Knew, The Character You Never Knew* by researcher James Tehrani. Hear all about it on the May 23 edition of “Flashback with Wes Britton” at Artistfirst.com! James fixes all the errors so common all over the net, weaves together a complicated biography of not only Switzer, but all the “Our Gang” child stars, and proves “Alfi” had a productive career long after his child actor heyday.
