the stars during Hollywood’s Golden Era helped guide the careers of such
legendary performers as Peter Sellers, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Farah
Fawcett, Jerry Lewis, Gregory Peck, Milton Berle, Ann-Margaret, Duke Ellington,
and Jack Lemmon.
A member of the Mirisch Film Company, the titles he influenced include more than 72 feature films that won 28 Academy Awards, including such classics as Moby Dick, West Side Story, Fiddler on the Roof, The Great Escape, The Pink Panther, Some Like it Hot,and In the Heat of the Night. Some say that Mirisch put the vision in television, with such mainstay series as Charlie’s Angels, Dynasty, The Golden Girls, I Dream of Jeannie, and The Brady Bunch.
